What Are The Requirements For Making Radio Control Car At Home?
Making a Radio -control car at home is not a difficult task if it can be made following steps properly. Anyone can make it with a very few commodities which might be available at your home. Some of the commodities that are must construct this Radio -control car at home are mentioned below,
- Hardboard: it is one of the main products which is a must for this construction. All the exterior structures will be constructed by hardboard.
- Markers: Markers of any color will be fine.
- DC motor: High rpm DC motors will be better.
- Battery: A longevity battery will be better for the construction and the size should be reasonable.
- Receiver circuit: It’s an important device to catch the frequency from the controller.
- Bearing: A must thing for the construction of wheels.
- Glue: Hot glue, super glue, plastic glue anyone will be good enough.
- USB driller: it will help to drill at a small diameter.
- Sticks: ice cream sticks, steel sticks, wooden sticks are a must for the construction.
- Plastic gear: the plastic gear should be made of good polymer.
- Switch on/off-board: it will help for making the device active.
- Tape: tape is important for increasing the diameter of the sticks.
What Are The Steps For Making A Radio Control Car At Home?
After managing all the required products that are must construct a Radio -control car either from your home or any stationery shop, we are ready to start the construction process. Here are the steps to construct a Radio -control car at home,
Step-1: Perpetration of axel and base:
At first, take a hardboard of measure 10” length and 4” breadth. Then marks over the hardboard according to the measure of a flat toy sports car. Now cut over the marking parts and our base will be prepared. Now for the axel take a wooden stick of 4” and mark 3 lines both the end of the stick. Taking the plastic gear drill, it according to the diameter of the wooden stick. We can increase the diameter of the wooden stick by using tape if needed. Now fix both the plastic gear at the 3rd marking of both ends of the wooden stick. After that fix bearings at the 1st marking of the wooden stick. Finally, fill the gap between the bearing and the plastic with the hardboard. Make sure that the axel is fixed to the base firmly enough.
Step-2: Structure of steering:
In this stem, we have to take a few hard boards and cut them in a circular shape. Then we have to fix a toothpick in the center after drilling it with a USB driller. Now the whole set (attached circular hardboards and the toothpick at center) need to be fixed at the nose of the base and finally add another circular hardboard chip into the toothpick for a better joint.
Secondly, we need to take a few ice cream sticks and attached them together with glue and cut them in a particular shape. Then we need to drill at the 4th part end of the stick. Similarly, we need to make two of them and attach them with the circular part which was attached in the first part of this step.
No, finally we need to make a 90 angle with a thin steel stick. The length of the steel stick will be an inch. After that fix two wooden sticks at the end of the steel stick after drilling at the center of it.

Step-3: construction of wheels:
Make the circles of the same radius over the hardboard. We need to make 4 wheels after attaching similar hardboard circles of the same radius. Now fix the ball bearing in two of the wheels after making a hole into the wheels. And the other two wheels will be the front wheels which will have no bearing.
Step-4: constructing electronic steering:
Firstly, construct a small circular pile-up of hardboards. Now attach it with the motor. After attaching with the motor, connect the two steering sheets of steel (made in step 2) with a common steel stick allowing a small hook to connect it with the motor. Now connect the hook of the steering with the circular hardboard structure (attached with the motor). Make sure that the motor is attached well to the base of the car.
Step-4: Connecting electronic components:
Allow the DC motor to connect with the receiver circuit. Besides module, antenna, on/of the board, batters will be connected with e receiver circuit as we as the mainboard. This structure allows connecting the electric steering control with the help of frequency.
Step-5: Structure of exterior parts of the car:
In this stem, we can show our creativity. We can decorate or make a structure of a radio-control car of our own. Such as we can make front fenders as well as back fenders by attaching the hardboard with the help of glue. Besides we can color the parts according to our will.
