How to Make a Remote Control Car by Household Items?

Let’s see the step-by-step process step to make a do-it-yourself RC car using a home item-

Drill two Holes

Use the drilling machine to drill two holes at the lower of your plastic index box. When you are making the hole, please keep the lid of this box open and far from the box. However, each of the holes should be standard in size so that your motor can easily be entered there. To avoid vibration, use a blanket under the index box (it is optional). However, each of the hole sizes might be ¼ inch to 1.8 inches to adjust with the motor entrance.

Mount the Wheels:

Mount the wheels by shafting the threads of the motor through the hole, you just made a while ago. Make sure you have to do it from inside your box. After doing this, you will find your motor is fitted inside the box and the remaining portion (shaft) is poking inside to outside through the holes.

Wire the Batteries:

After you have mounted your motors and wheels, now it turns to solder the wires that come from the motor. Solder the wire to the output of the radio receiver. Connect the positive to the positive end, and negative to the negative end of each wire.

Pack Batteries & Electronics:

When the soldering is finished, place all the battery packs and the electronics inside the box. Secure all those parts using a double-sided sticky tape gum on the place.

Go for the final Assemble and Trail:

The upper portion of your DYI remote car has already been completed. However, now attach the rubber wheels under the protruding shafts. Now your total construction is ready, you can go for the trial now. See check whether your RC car can scoot with the wheels attached underneath or not. Also, do not forget to test whether it can turn left/right or not. If this RC car can give a satisfactory result, you can hand it over to your child to play with this.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

Q1: How Can I make an RC car on my own?

Answer: Read my article, as already I have included step by step procedure describing how to make an RC car. Still, if you have any issues, you can watch a tutorial video on YouTube to catch the total procedure in your eyes.

Q2: Can I make a Cardboard RC car?

Answer: You can. But it depends on the capability of how you assemble all the parts of an RC car (like the motors, wheels, radio signal receiver, etc.). If you can properly place all those parts and can give organized settings, yes a cardboard RC car also can be your outcome product.

The fact is, there are several DIY projects to make an RC remote car. Even using a capable motor with two running wheels additionally a radio signal receiver can give you a feel of your DIY RC car easily. However, some of us have a misconception about the RC DIY project, that it costs a lot huge money. It is not true always. The matter is, if you have a hobby of making the most expensive RC car, you have to afford to purchase the car parts.

The more money you can invest in your car, the more you can customize all the features and techs onto your handmade car.

But don’t be upset about this expense (if you have the ability). Cause, the feelings you are getting to fulfill your hobby, it cannot compare with anything.
